Vicenza is located around the hills, thus a few of these spots are on the hills and this will require you to have a car.

The center of Vicenza is closed to traffic and you can enjoy a lovely walk through the historic streets. You can of course do some shopping, but we suggest that you don't miss:
You can find below a beautiful video of Giulia's home town:
Verona is one of our favorite towns in the surroudings. It is beautiful, romantic, and the right size to visit. Plus you can do very good shopping.
As a reference, Verona is the town of Romeo and Juliet and you can't miss it.
It is located 45 minutes from the venue by car, but you can of course reach it by train.
What to see:
Padova is bigger than Vicenza and is located 20 minutes by car from the venue.
The center of Padova is also closed to traffic, and you have much to see and visit here:
If you want to really visit Venice, you may need 3 or more days. But if you only want to spend 1 day there it is doable. It's only 1 hour by train or by car from the venue (car parking in Venice is costy).
Needless to say, the areas around San Marco Square and Ponte di Rialto are super crowded, we prefer the southern areas much more.
What to say about Venice.. get ready to walk!
And the best suggestion is to walk and get lost. If you want to visit an island, Burano is amongst the prettiest.
You have the chance (or maybe not) that on July 20th and 21st Venice hosts a major city festival, Festa del Redentore. The city is very crowded with people partying and waiting for the fireworks.
We don't suggest you to visit Venice during these days, unless you are equipped with a private boat or you have a reserved table outdoor.
Here is a map of nice spots and restaurants that we feel we have to suggest to you.
Bologna is the place you must go to if you want to taste the best Italian food. It is 1 hour far by car from the venue, and you can go also by train.
Bologna is home of the oldest university of the world and you can still feel the energy of the good student environment. The city is also famous for its' porticoes (53 km of porticoes), and a few more things:
The Garda Lake is a large lake on the west part of Verona. It is really beautiful and you can swim there in summer. If you have a few days and want to rest, this is a very good solution.
Around the lake there are several small villages that are worth seeing, we will list here just a few.
2-hour drive from the venue, you can also reach it by high speed train leaving from Vicenza or from Padova.
We let you discover Milan, but for sure you will have to visit the Duomo, eat a cotoletta and a risotto alla milanese with ossobuco.
This is a historical town in the North of Vicenza. It's a good destination for half day but you'll need a car to get there.
It is famous for its' ancient bridge, the old city center, the good food and the drinks/spirits.
A bit further than Bassano.
Very small beautiful village, perfect for a fresh walk near the mountains.
Still North of Vicenza.
It's known for the castle and the famous square where the city organizes the live chess game.
Another romantic Venetian town, you will surely find good wine here.
For all those who love to shop: near Treviso there is a massive outlet village with all brands. https://www.mcarthurglen.com/it/outlets/it/designer-outlet-noventa-di-piave/
2 hours 30 drive from the venue. You can go by train but there is no direct connection.
We love this city, it is different from any other city in Italy, due to its Austrian history.
Moreover, on the way to Trieste there are many seaside locations where you can stop and enjoy the beach!
